Our Boys are leakin' oil, so a few changes have been made. Cainer was put on the DL with a (wink, wink!) sore back, conveniently in time for Cory Gearrin's return from rehab in Sac. The Giants also made a minor league deal with free agent RHP Joe Nathan who was originally drafted by the Giants in 1999. He played 4 seasons with us, he's a 6 time All-Star, and for about 5 years was considered one of the best CLOSERS in MLB! Right now he's pitching in AA Richmond (The flying squirrels!) because it's near his home, although he's definitely worthy of playing with the River Cats. The Giants plan to keep a very close eye on him to see if maybe he can help us out. The team is going with a 4 man rotation starting tonight so that our top 3 aces can pitch against LA after this 4 game series vs. the Mets and then a day off Monday. I had heard there were major changes coming to the lineup, but it's the same ol' same ol' tonight. I believe Span will be moved out of lead-off, not sure what the other changes will be. First pitch at 7:15 on CSNBA, Bum on the bump vs. deGrom for the Metropolitans. This should be an epic pitching match up! Philly has pulled ahead of LA in the 8th, so we have a chance to pick up a full game. Let's go Giants! JUST DO IT.
