Bum is out of a successful surgery where 3 pins were placed in his left pinky. He’s on the DL for 6-8 weeks. Here’s a trippy factoid: Whit Merrifield who hit the line drive that broke Bum’s finger played with Bum as a kid in NC. Bumgarner hit him with pitch when they were 11 years old. Small world. If only our Spring Training were one day shorter. Sigh.
