Sakamoto: Why 49ers’ QB Colin Kaepernick Gets Unfair Blame For Offensive Woes
I’ll be the first to admit that San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick was a complete mess against the Arizona Cardinals. A game in which he threw a career-high four interceptions including ... Read More

I've been a diehard Niners fan all my life. I was a season ticket holder at Candlestick for 7 years. Win or lose, I will always cheer for the red and gold. I didn't agree with the hiring of Jim Tomsula, but realizing he was going to get the job regardless of how many more qualified candidates wanted the gig I decided to give the guy a chance. Great coaches find a way to get the most out of the players on their roster. After watching my once stout defense give up 90 points in the past two weeks, the jury is no longer out. We now know what we have. To put it the nicest way possible, Tomsula is the "Dubya of NFL head coaches." He is a players coach, much like Dubya was someone the average American truck driver would like to have a beer with, Jimmy T is a guy players want to play for. But also like Dubya as POTUS, Jimmy T as 49ers head coach is clearly in way over his head. Unfortunately, an NFL head coach cannot take vacations during the season the way Dubya did a record number of times while in office. An NFL head coach must be able to make adjustments, to find ways to win. The way we were destroyed the past two weeks is only small in comparison to the 50-point loss we are likely to absorb next week at Levi's stadium. I just lost over $100 by selling my ticket to the 49ers-Packers game. I'd rather watch the debacle with my brothers and sisters of 49er Empire High Desert than be there to support Jed York, who I personally blame for the historic disaster I now believe this season will ultimately become. For clarification, I don't blame York solely for running Harbaugh -- a proven winner -- out of town. I blame him and Trent Baalke for not finding a qualified replacement. At least two Super Bowl winning coaches openly lobbied for the job. Our previous defensive coordinator who kept us at least respectable in 2014 was stepped over. I am still a diehard Niners fan, but 2015 will be the very first time in over a decade that I will not be attending a single Niners game in person. You are the reason for this, Jed York. You are to blame. When this team -- my team -- once again gets destroyed against Green Bay next week and falls to 1-3, our season ended after week 4, I think it is time to admit your mistake, fire the "nice guy you'd like to have a beer with" and hire a coach who can actually bring this talented team back to where it needs to be...
